A practice site costs almost nothing to run. No ads to sell, no sales team. You are not the product. The money from Pro will pay for keeping every question verified against the current official handbook, forever.
Try one, then tap the proof
Answer it, then read the receipt
Pick an answer and the proof prints: the handbook section, the PDF page, the revision. Every question on this site works this way.
A regulatory sign posted at an intersection reads NO RIGHT TURN. What must a driver do?
01 How it works
Five seconds: answer, tap the proof, the receipt prints, readiness fills.

Evidence
Check anyone. Including us.
Two of the biggest test-prep sites disagree about California's passing score. One says 39 of 46. The other says 38 of 46. Neither shows a source. We show ours: the DMV does not publish official counts, so we report what recent test-takers consistently say, we use the stricter line, and we link our reasoning. That is the standard every claim on this site meets.3

Verified, or deleted
Every question earns its place, or it does not ship
We wrote more questions than we shipped. Any question we could not pin to the handbook was deleted, not patched.
04 Verification funnel
Every shipped question was checked twice, by independent verifiers, against the handbook itself. The ones that failed were deleted, not fixed up.

Plain answers
Questions, answered
How many questions are on the California permit test?
The DMV requires a score of 80 percent but does not publish official question counts. Recent test-takers consistently report 46 questions (pass at 38) if you are under 18, and 36 questions (pass at 30) if you are 18 or older. Our mock exam uses those stricter reported lines.
What is the citation on every question?
Three things: the handbook section, the PDF page in the official file, and the handbook's own revision marker (DL 600 REV. 6/2025). Tap the proof on any answer to print it, then open the official handbook and check it yourself.
Is it really free?
Free practice forever. Pro $24.99 once, never billed again, updates included. No subscriptions ever. No account, no trial, no card. Practice, mock exams, the mistake notebook, and every citation are free.

More states, same bar
A state appears here only after its full pipeline passes: the official manual sourced and checksummed, questions written fresh from that state's own law, two independent verification passes, an independent audit of a random sample against the official PDF, and machine checks on every claim.
